  • Kawartha Lakes LoreTalks at the Lindsay Library Branch

    If you’re passionate about local history, or simply fascinated by the stories hidden in the landscape around you. Kawartha Lakes LoreTalks is a must-attend for anyone who loves a good local history story. 

    Hosted by Kawartha Lakes Public Library - Lindsay branch, LoreTalks invites history enthusiasts, curious newcomers, and lifelong residents to gather, share, and explore our region’s past.

    Each session is led by a knowledgeable local presenter who delves into a different chapter of Kawartha Lakes’ past, unearthing the events, influences, and everyday experiences that have shaped our region. Through engaging talks and open discussion, participants have the chance not only to learn but to share their own memories, questions, and connections. 

    LoreTalks returns Friday, March 20 and Friday, April 15 with new themes and fresh discoveries. Join us, discover something new, and connect with the history that connects us all.

  • Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour

    The Banff Mountain Film Festival is back again for another year!  Join Wild Rock Outfitters at Showplace on January 15th, 16th or 17th for an evening of engaging outdoor films and mountain culture. Tickets available in person at Wild Rock and online at wildrock.net

    This is our 30+ year hosting the festival here in town, and it’s always a great few nights of inspiring films about mountain culture, outdoor adventure, and the natural world.

    As always, part of the proceeds go to our ComPassion Project, which supports community initiatives here in Peterborough.
