New Stages closes our 2025 - 26 season with a staged reading of Clyde’s by Lynn Nottage, the Pulitzer Prize - winning playwright of Sweat, a play that New Stages
presented in 2023.
Clyde’s is a fresh new comedy full of hunger, heart, and smarts. If you love
sandwiches and second chances, this show is for you.
What’s it about?
At Clyde’s, a truck -stop sandwich shop, the employees all share
something in common: a criminal record. As they hustle through their shifts, they
are also on a shared, near -spiritual quest to create the perfect sandwich. Think
The Bear meets Beckett, this comic play had audiences howling during its recent
run at Canadian Stage in Toronto. New Stages is thrilled to bring this vital and fun
play by one of our great contemporary playwrights to Peterborough audiences.
Before the show: New Stages will announce its highly anticipated 2026 - 27
season from the stage on June 14. Subscriptions go on sale that night, with your
chance to choose your seats for the year ahead.
