Join the Kawartha String OrchestraHeaded by conductor and music director Tak Kwan, the KSO is now welcoming new members for our fall 2026 season. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday at St Luke's Anglican Church in East City from 9:45am - 11:45am starting on September 9 2026.
We are looking for violin, viola, cello, and bass players who are at approximately an intermediate level. No auditions are necessary. Prospective players can try a session without obligation.

Peterborough Curling Club Open House and RegistrationPeterborough Curling Club is celebrating 150 years in our community this curling season! Why not let this be your first curling year? Join us on Sept 9th at the curling club from 5:30 to 7:30 pm to get information about all of our leagues! League convenors will be on hand to answer all of your questions! New this year, three options for Learn to Curl! On Sundays choose from a half season Learn to Curl session from October to December 2026 OR a half season session from late January to early April 2027. On Thursdays, choose a full season Learn to Curl membership from October to April 2027. Both Learn to Curl sessions offer great instruction and great fun for all abilities! For youth aged 8 to 18 years PCC has their Sunday morning Junior program. PCC has lots of leagues to choose from- Mens and Ladies leagues in the daytime and nighttime, Open leagues, Mixed leagues, Doubles leagues. Join us at the open house...it is one stop shopping for our curling leagues. Also stop by the display to see all the interesting 150th anniversary events we have planned for the season.

Rosedale's Family Day-Corn Roast and Kids Fishing DerbyThis Saturday, September 12th, the Resident of Rosedale are hosting Rosedale’s Family Day! The Residents of Rosedale is a volunteer group that formed to revitalize the dilapidated Parkette under the Highway 35 bridge and improve the boat ramp and launch area. So this Saturday, from 2- 4pm, join your friends and neighbours in the beautiful revitalized Parkette for a Community Corn Roast, featuring fresh, local corn. There will also be hot dogs, drinks and so much more! Bring the kiddies to try their luck at fishing! A Kids Fishing Derby will start at 2pm. Bring your own rod, if you can. There are prizes for all participants and ice cream for all the kids. There is a colouring station and some great photo op displays. Also, games for kids of all ages! So come out and reconnect with your neighbours and share some fun and laughter. This is a free event! In case, of rain, it will be held Sunday Sept 13th for 2-4pm.
